    <ΦΙΛΑΡΓΥΡΟΣ ΠΡΕΣΒΥΤΗΣ.> / Παῖδα φιλάργυρός τις εὔπορος ἔχων κόρην ἐβούλετο συνάψαι πρὸς γάμον αὐτῷ πλουσίαν μέν, αἰσχρὰν δὲ τὴν ὄψιν. ἀποστρεφόμενος τὴν μνηστείαν ὁ νέος μεταξύ τινος ἑορτῆς γινομένης ἑτέρας ἠράσθη παρθένου καλῆς, ἐνδεοῦς δὲ χρημάτων ἐν τῇ πανηγύρει ταύτην ἰδών. περὶ ἧς τὸν πατέρα πρὸς γάμον αἰτήσας διήμαρτε. πολέμου καταλαβόντος ἠρίστευσε καὶ δωρεὰν ἣν ἐθέλει παρὰ τῶν νόμων ἔχων αἰτεῖν ἀξιοῖ τὴν ἐρωμένην λαβεῖν ἀντιλέγοντος τοῦ πατρός. μελετῶμεν τὸν φιλάργυρον.
